European Athletics launches Young Leaders Community website!
Monday 17 January 2011Hi everyone,
I am new at European Athletics and will administrate the platform from now on, Sandra is still here too and will contribute again of course. I will introduce myself in a bit more details soon but today is the time to announce what we have been waiting for...
The "European Athletics Young Leaders Community" has just released a new feature to support and recognize the work of volunteers who contribute to athletics.
The tool is now live at http://athleticscommunity.org and will allow volunteers to register their hours and start their journey to obtain recognition certificates for their contribution to the sports.
The hours you will need to get the certificates are as follows:
Bronze Certificate – for 100 logged hours
Silver Certificate – for 250 logged hours
Gold Certificate – for 500 logged hours
You want to be the first to get a certificate? Don’t way any longer, log on to the community web site and simply access the new functionality under the volunteer Tab with “Add Volunteering Hours”.
A quick access button is also available on every page of the community, simply use “Add Hours”.
If you are not a member of the community yet, follow instruction at "http://athleticscommunity.org".

Dear Olivier Piron, I have completed logged hours for Bronze. I will complete it for Silver soon. I do not know who will send me the certificate.
Best wishes.

Dear Osman Atakan Tekin,
congratulation for your achievement and well done for your commitment. I can see you have been very active in 2010 and probably before that too.
European Athletics is working towards processing the 1st set of awards all together in the spring, so it will be a little bit of wait for you to receive the paper version.
However, before this happens, you will soon be able to see the awards on your profile under recognition & awards.
So in the meantime, why don't you submit a blog to share your experience, the fun you had and possibily some of the challenges you faced too. The people on the community could learn a lot from your experience.
And if you have friends you worked with on these events, who have not yet heard about this platform, just let them know so they can follow your example and start submitting their hours too.
Thanks a lot, I hope 2011 provides you lots of opportunity to contribute to Athletics,
All the best,
Olivier
Good job Olivier ;-)
